Transitioning to Consultant

Congratulations on completing your training, and welcome to fellowship with RACP!    

Young Oncologists Group of Australia is a group of medical oncologists in the first five years since fellowship who are members of MOGA. They aim to provide support for newly-fellowed colleagues during this period.  

So, you have got your letters, now what?

  • Join YOGA (we have a Facebook page as well)  

  • Update your AHPRA registration 

  • Update your Medicare registration (for provider numbers etc.)  

    • You need to update AHPRA first  

  • Update your medical indemnity insurance 

    • Discuss with your colleagues 

    • Ring around to different companies to see what options are available  

  • Be active! Remember that many organisations have discounts for those undertaking further research and have a lower income

    • If you are doing a Masters/PhD, there are several subsidies available to reflect your reduced income
