Medical Oncologist, Cross Cancer Institute (CCI), Edmonton

The Department of Oncology, Cancer Care Alberta, Alberta Health Services, Division of Medical Oncology at the Cross Cancer Institute (CCI), is accepting applications for a full-time Medical Oncologist position at the Cross Cancer Institute (CCI) in Edmonton.

The successful applicant will join a team of multidisciplinary cancer programs located at the Cross Cancer Institute, Edmonton Zone Medical Oncologists currently on staff working within the systemic treatment area and are involved in research, teaching and patient care. This position will be primarily clinical, however, academic interests will be accommodated where appropriate, and participation in clinical trials is expected.

Cross Cancer Institute (CCI) is a freestanding integrated cancer treatment and research facility that functions as the tertiary oncology referral centre for Northern Alberta. CCI is a leader in innovative cancer research, prevention, treatment and care initiatives. It has a strong record of basic and translational research as well as clinical trial activity in Oncology.

Qualifications include an MD, certification in Internal Medicine or equivalent, special competency in Medical Oncology or equivalent. The Candidate must be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta. They must read, write, and speak English fluently. This position is sponsorship and LMIA eligible.

  • Compensation: Remuneration will depend on clinical experience and comply with the agreement between Cancer Care Alberta, Alberta Health Services and the Alberta Medical Association. Compensation Grid Compensation range is between $322,857 (level 1) and $464,743 (level 4). The Practitioner is responsible for purchasing health and insurance benefits. The total service days requirement is 210 service days per annum. The Oncologists are eligible for Additional Workload Compensation during the position vacancies in Cancer Care Alberta. Additional support from Cancer Care Alberta: CCA provides a recruitment support that includes the following conditional on leadership approval: 1. Relocation Support: up to $10,000 for recruits within North America and up to $15,000 for recruits outside North America. 2. AHS Sponsorship Support if required. 3. Immigration (work permit visa support) if required. 4. Strategic recruitment Incentive.   Oncologists may be either AHS employees or independent contractors.
