Wiley Key Opinions in Medicine Nov 2024: Medical Oncology Group of Australia (MOGA) Annual Scientific Meeting (ASM), Sydney, 14 to 16 August 2024
Introduction
The 45th Medical Oncology Group of Australia (MOGA) Annual Scientific Meeting (ASM) brought together over 300 delegates on Gadigal land in Sydney from 14 to 16 August 2024. The ASM theme ‘Caring for Tomorrow: Bridging Advances in Cancer Care Technology and Innovation’ provided a forum to discuss innovation in oncology whilst offering opportunities for networking and a display of over 50 research posters. Local and international speakers highlighted work in artificial intelligence (AI), solid and liquid precision medicine, radiomics and clinical trial design. MOGA Chair A/Prof Melissa Eastgate noted that many Australian initiatives had been presented at the 2024 American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) meeting and praised the optimistic intent of recent initiatives including the Queensland Cancer Strategy. She acknowledged the wellbeing focus of the ASM, recognising the impact of budget pressures and workforce shortages on the profession. She thanked ASM Co-convenors A/Prof Connie Diakos and Dr Adrian Lee.
