Call for Expressions of Interest to join the MOGA Workforce/Workload Committee
As the national professional organisation for Australian medical oncologists and the specialty of Medical Oncology with the Royal Australasian College of Physicians, MOGA recognises its needs to look after the workload, wellbeing and workforce planning needs of the profession to ensure its membership needs are sustainable given increasing complexity and burden of cancer care. Recent data from MOGA-led National Oncology Mentorship Program (NOMP) and other wellbeing surveys show that burnout rates in Australian medical oncologists are unacceptably high.
MOGA is seeking Expressions of Interest (EOI) from MOGA members interested in joining the newly created MOGA Workforce/Workload Committee with representation from consultants and trainees across diverse practice settings (metropolitan vs regional vs remote), private vs public vs academic etc. MOGA members play a vital role in helping to identify factors contributing to workload distribution issues, workforce and succession planning, and establish national and local initiatives to support wellbeing and culture within oncology workplaces.
Committee members must be current MOGA members with an interest in championing workload and wellbeing within the profession. Members from any part of Australia and at all levels in their medical oncology career are welcome to submit an EOI. No specific skills or expertise is required.
The current plan is for virtual meetings approximately every 3 months. The terms of reference and scope of the committee will be discussed and developed at the initial meeting.
To submit an EOI, please complete the MOGA Expression of Interest Form by COB 10 June 2025
EOIs consist of a CV and a short (<200 words) statement as to why your personal experience would benefit the group. As part of the statement, please rank your interest from 1-3 on the following topics:
